Rupert Isaacson at Animals on the Mind: Mental Health News Radio

Rupert Isaacson joins us for a sound byte at The Human Animal Connection conference at the University of Denver. He’s signing books and one of the invited presenters. Luckily we were able to talk about his work for a few moments. Enjoy!

Rupert Isaacson was born in London to a South African mother and a Zimbabwean father. Isaacson’s first book, The Healing Land: A Kalahari (Grove Press), was a 2004 New York Times Notable Book. His journalism and travel writing has appeared in the Daily Telegraph, Esquire, National Geographic, Independent on Sunday, Conde Nast Traveler, Daily Mail and The Field. He has traveled extensively in Africa, Asia, and North America and now lives in Austin, Texas, with his former wife, Kristin, and their son, Rowan. In addition to being an ex-professional horse trainer, Rupert is founding director of the Indigenous Land Rights Fund, a non-profit organization that helps threatened and displaced indigenous tribes obtain tenure of their ancestral land.
