Affordable Living

Hello,

Are you someone who has a disability and living at home or on your own. but cant find a community of like mined people. Well my next guest Paula Manion and her husband did just that. She saw a need for those who have a disability who needed affordable living space and wanted to be part of a community and created Our Stomping Ground.

Our Stomping Ground right now is the Virgina DC area and offers nice apartments for those with a disability a place to live and enoy outtings and make friends with others. 

We talk about how she came up with the idea of Our Stomping ground

This is a incredible thing to happen for those us looking for a place to live and friends to do things with.

Hello have you every wonder what it is like to find love, expecially if you are someone who is on the spectrrum. Well my guest did just that.

You may not recogize his name but if you are a fan of the show Love on the Spectrum, you will know the name David Isaacman. He was one of the cast member of Love on the spectrum.  In this show I talk with him and his sister Alison about what it was like being on the specturm, what it was like to find the one and what his life was life before and after the show aired.

I also talk with his sister Alison and find out what she has leaned from her brother and now star of Love on the spectrum.

David is such a amazing inspriation for those out there, with his work out routine and his now dating life. Davids advice to those look for love are

“Be confident, have courage, and be yourself”

This is such a important message out there to those of us on the spectrum who are afraid to put ourselves out there.

Life is all about taking risks, because life is short.

Justice for Disabilities

In this episode of Inside the Aspergers Studio I talk with John LaMantia of the law firm Wais, Vogelstein, Forman, Koch & Norman.  They deal individuals and families who are victims of birth injuries from medical negligence. Their clients deal with permanent cognitive and developmental disabilities, I will ask him do some of his clients think that these injuries cause their child to have Autism.

We will find out how this ties in with Autism and how it decided to get into this type of law and how he decided to become a lawyer in the first place.  I talk with him about if has had people claim due to a birth injury if people have claimed their child became autistic and much much more.

I talk with Ginny about herself and how she got into working with and helping those with ASD.  I talk to her about how she came up with the name Social Graces. She also talks about her dad and her 3 brothers and how they were one of the reasons she got into helping those with ASD.

We go over what a typical day is like for her, to challenge.  She talks about how every clinet is wired different and each client has different goals.  She considers herself a problem solver and someone who never gives up.

She is doing truly amazing things for those out there with ASD.  She not only has local clients she has clients all over US and international.

In my next episode, I talk with Amy O’keeffe who is from Ireland and going for her Archaeology PhD from Trinity College. We talk about what it was like for her to be diagnosed late in life as recent as this February with not only ASD and ADHD but also Fibromyalgia. 

We talk about how she deals with her ADHD during her studies, and what challenges she has faced knowing what she has.  She talks about how Ireland is with disability how one minute they can award a student with a disability grant and than take it away from them, we also talk about how challenging it was for a lot of students to study during Covid and how a lot of students really missed out and lost out.

We talk about how her diagnose really hasn’t changed her, but made her understands herself better.

We talk about her kids, her philosophy of how she deals with ADHD with her school kids to her own kids.

She is all about helping those with ADHD and getting the parents educated on how to raise and help their child succeeded.
