Recovering and Becoming Whole After Narcissistic Abuse

A podcast of some of my quotes from my book: Recovering and Healing After the Narcissist.

“The true self is the vital part of us we have inhabited since birth. It is the spontaneous core within that is free to express feelings and thoughts, to experience and create beauty as unique individuals.”

“Exercise Your Way”

“Begin where you feel comfortable. Be realistic and kind to yourself.

Walking is an excellent all around exercise. As you walk you observe everything at close range. With each step you become more grounded to the earth and gain a sense of stability.”

“Healing through Gentle Hatha Yoga”

“Regular practice of hatha yoga fortifies the immune system, improves digestion and is helpful for getting quality sleep. Performance is not the purpose of yoga. Practicing yoga consistently increases your powers of concentration The capacity to focus the mind to concentrate in this way accumulates and becomes stronger and more natural to your inner being.”

“Down time”

“Everyone is entitled to rest, solitude, reverie and repose but most people today don’t allow themselves any down time. Some of the most creative and productive human beings spend segments of their days and evenings in a quiet, calm, unstructured environment.”

“Healing in the parasympathetic Nervous System”

“The parasympathetic nervous system is a state of letting go as you bathe in physical and psychological security, peace and body and mind grounding. As you consistently visit this state of calm you heal body, mind and psyche.”
