It was a privilege to have the opportunity to sit and chat with the President of the Jewish Community Center in Brasov, Valer Plugaru. When we are aware of our past it plays a role in deterring the atrocities of the past from repeating themselves. Taking time to bring life to things that were truly ugly, can be a powerful tool for adults and kids in learning about the strength in kindness and the importance of knowing our history.

Ally has been to Romania 16 times to serve, give and go beyond herself.

how giving back and loving others has altered her path in life.

Sarah Vienna, co-founder of Firm Foundations, and Andreea, a local Romanian who went through the program and is now working with the organization full-time as a licensed social worker share the power of giving.
Firm Foundations is a non-profit organization based in Brasov, Romania. They serve children of Romania through providing volunteers to hold babies in the local hospital who are either orphans or in long-term care, they raise funds for providing diapers and formula for children as well as their after school program that allows for support and hope for those who might otherwise fall through the system’s cracks.
