NEW to MHNR Network!! Welcome Just a Widow Talk with Teresa Taylor-Williams!

Just a Widow Talk brings unique and individual stories of spousal and partner loss in a supportive way to help those who are on their own grief journeys.

“As with most folks, we don’t choose our grief journey – it is thrust upon us.”

– Teresa Taylor-Williams

Teresa Taylor-Williams is a widow, an award winning journalist, and a self proclaimed arse-kicker. She has joined Mental Health News Radio Network with her podcast, Just a Widow Talk.  As a widow, she has and is still traveling the path of grief in the way that only those who have lost a spouse or partner can understand.

Teresa expresses how her faith in the Lord has personally shown her how there can be joy that comes from any situation, even one of profound loss.  This podcast was birthed from the depths of pain and loss and has emerged into something beautiful  – something that is meaningful and impactful.  Similar to a lotus emerging out of the muck and mire, this podcast is beautiful as it is a unique space for those grieving to celebrate, acknowledge, and share about those they have lost.

In her former professional lives she has been a newspaper reporter and later a radio show host.  She is currently studying to be a grief therapist, and a podcast seemed a natural fit for her to continue to use her journalistic skills and reach out to a larger audience.  As a widow who advocates for those who have experienced spouse and partner loss, she feels this is a perfect opportunity to combine her skills, her passions, and her ongoing education to help others in their own journeys.

Teresa wants every one of her listeners to keep in mind that there are grievers in our circles.  We often do not realize if we aren’t paying attention, but they are there.  It is often that many don’t publicize their grief, but if we keep an eye out and pay attention, we can often find those others that are like us and are on a grief journey of their own.  Perhaps it can help everyone to be a bit more supportive, and maybe even reach out to them after listening to a show to help support one another.

Teresa is a storyteller and she feels blessed to have her guests share their stories of grief with her on her podcast, and she is just as honored to have an audience of listeners.  Her goal is to reach the world with the stories of these amazing people who are each on their own journeys dealing with spousal and partner loss.  She expressed that she was grateful for Mental Health News Radio Network for allowing her to fulfill her purpose.  And we are incredibly grateful to have her!
