Mother’s Day Edition: Darlene Endy — “We’re just like everybody else.”

Darlene Endy has had careers as a nutritionist, mother of triplets, and is currently a fiber artist specializing in weaving. She’s also the mother of a son recovering from a heroin addiction. Based on their experience as parents trying to get help for their son, Darlene and her husband started a foundation called Road2RecoveryCNY. Its purpose is to fund long-term treatment for opioid addiction, focusing on central New York residents who cannot afford it themselves.

Caroline’s son is in early recovery from a heroin addiction. She credits Darlene and her Foundation for saving her son’s life, after several short-term treatments failed.

Susan is the founder of Maureen’s Hope, a non-profit organization in central NY that provides individualized help and support to people with life-threatening illness. The Foundation provides a variety of services for patients, such as snow blowing and housecleaning, to holiday baskets for children. She also offers a spa day for mothers of ill children.
