Former Undercover Narcotics officer Mike Koch

Mike Koch, a former undercover narcotics officer, spent 19 years on the job. He began as an eager and dedicated officer who served his community with honor. As with many other officers, he used alcohol to numb the pain and trauma he experienced at work. After a series of injuries with the resulting prescription of pain meds, Mike became addicted to narcotics. Mike tells the story of his spiral into addiction, losing everything, and doing the work to reclaim his life. Mike is an exceptional example of resiliency and truly inspirational. Mike now works with first responders who have PTSD and issues of addiction. He also has is own podcast, Positive Connections.

Mental Health News Radio Network hosts a podcast about mental health recovery through creative arts

Hysteria Radio is now part of the Mental Health News Radio Network’s podcast roster. The show joins over thirty mental health and well-being focused MHNR Network podcasts including The Rehab, Beyond Risk and Back and Converge Autism Radio.

The show is hosted by six time published poet, author and speaker Joseph Fusaro, who also works with organizations including the National Association on Mental Illness to raise mental health awareness. Fusaro personally experienced the healing power of song writing to combat suicidal thoughts and psychosis. This power helped him to stay alive, literally, to seek professional mental health intervention. Alongside therapy and learning to self-care creative expression has been an ongoing support in his recovery from mental illness.
