High Level Narcissists – Beyond the Flawless Image – Manipulations and Deceits

Your marital relationship with a high level narcissist is expendable. They are incapable of being loyal to anyone but themselves. 

Authentic feelings are not part of the high level narcissist’s psychological vocabulary. They tell great stories about their devotion to their spouse and children but this makes for great drama and image enhancement. 

The high level narcissistic spouse is always looking for new sources of psychological supply that will keep his ego fully inflated. 

High level narcissists always move on when things get difficult. They are not disposed to work on their marriage. They simply replace their spouses with others.

Pay attention to your needs and gifts. Don’t blame yourself for becoming involved in a marriage with a narcissist. 

Focus on your talents, well being and unique creative gifts. Give yourself tremendous credit for your insights, great character and the rediscovery of your true self.

Narcissistic Spiritual Gurus

For some time there have been a growing number of  Spiritual Teachers who are Narcissistic Personalities. The are among the most magnetic and charismatic individuals. 

There are many individuals who have been through very difficult and traumatic childhoods and deprivations. Some are going through divorce, shifts in their psychological and emotional well being.  Coming to the rescue are “narcissistic Gurus” who have all the answers. Charismatic, charming, excellent communicators and story tellers, these individuals offer courses that calm you down and that can make you rich. 

Often physically attractive with excellent communication skills, tey can captivate any audience.  Many travel the world, peddling their packages for thousands of dollars.  I have seen their self entitled over the top lifestyles, born out of the money that they extract from psychologically vulnerable people. 

I share my experience with a very “gifted” high level narcissistic guru. 

Pay attention to your intuitive gifts. You know the truth. Discover your own spiritual practice that has special meaning to you. Be kind, patient and understanding with yourself.

How to Handle the Emotional Abuse of Microaggressions Using the PWR Response

The small, subtle, often sneaky words, actions, and gestures that are small or brief slights, insults, insinuations, or put downs used to marginalize you are microaggressions. These behaviors are frequent and painful. But, they are small and they catch you off guard, wondering if you should speak up. Or, would it be making a mountain out of a molehill? Is that familiar? Hand in hand with microaggressions are microinvalidations: small and frequent ways that you are discounted, dismissed, or denied. When a Hijackal or other toxic person denies that you know what you think, feel, need, want, or even have seen, it can be a microinvalidation. This episode helps you see the small papercuts that are intended to make you emotionally exhausted and bleeding to death. Nasty! To do something about them, though, you have to recognize them when they are happening. Then, using my PWR response as I outline, you have a way to counteract the effect of these microaggressions on you. Hope, Healing, Self-Advocacy and Llama power with Heather Pate

This week Erin had a powerful conversation with her friend, IYCSM family member, and co-Founder/Board Chair of Robin’s Hope, an organization that helps adults overcome traumatic life events and toxic stress through building hope, resilience and social connection. Heather Pate is a registered peer recovery specialist who has faced multiple traumatic experiences throughout life which have affected her in numerous ways. She has found that being in a safe and supportive environment has helped her a great deal. She hopes to pass on tools that have helped as she comes alongside others on their healing journeys.

Malicious Narcissists Convincing Others You Are At Fault Or Crazy

Narcissists have an ugly, obnoxious side, especially if they want something that you have a nd you refuse to comply. This becomes very ugly during divorce from a narcissist. 

Do your research and be prepared for the narcissist during the divorce process. They hire shark-toothed attorneys. In some instances the narcissist contacts your relatives, in-laws, friends and anyone who who will listen to blatant lies about your character. 

The narcissist puts you at fault for everything that went wrong in the marriage. They never take responsibility for their irresponsible behavior. 

Surround yourself with individuals whom you can trust and who believe and understand the complex ordeal you are going through. 

Be kind and patient with yourself; practice self care: rest, sleep, move and exercise your way, nourishing food, hydration, Nature.
