Lt. Katy Lynch from the La Mesa Police Department shares her passion for her career and the steps she takes to make sure her officers are provided the best possible guidance and leadership. Katy has a police canine partner named Declan who provides love and support to officers and others needing that selfless contact only a dog can provide. Declan translates from the Irish definition meaning “Full of Goodness” and obtained through Next Step Service Dogs in Escondido California. Katy is a solid role model and leader among her peers and talks about the truth behind the badge. Many of us don’t want to admit we’re going through a rough time and put on a uniform and badge to be there to help others while we suffer in silence. There is hope through any problems we are facing and Katy talks about a solution.
