New Mental Health News Radio Network Podcast – Eating Disorders: Navigating Recovery

New Mental Health News Radio Network The Eating Disorders: Navigating Recovery podcast shines a light on the complexity of eating disorder treatment and recovery.

Licensed social worker Francis Iacobucci and award winning writer Catherine Brown co-host Eating Disorders: Navigating Recovery. The podcast covers every aspect of eating disorders in a frank and open way, from people’s personal narratives of recovery to conversations with experts on signs of an eating disorder, types of treatment and ways to foster recovery.

The hosts try to include as many different types of voices as possible and consider eating disorders as a social justice issue.

Eating Disorders: Navigating Recovery collates content from a variety of sources, about a variety of topics all centered on eating disorder recovery, facilitated by two people who have little in common other than their lived experiences with this incredibly challenging mental illness. The podcast is aimed at anyone impacted by eating disorders, disordered eating, body image dissatisfaction, and those yearning to free themselves from self-hate.

Iacobucci said, “It’s really good that the two of us can create a platform from which someone else may be able to share their story and grow in their recovery”.

Eating Disorders: Navigating Recovery airs on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Each episode features an interview with an expert or a person impacted by eating disorders as well as a conversation between the hosts about issues brought up in previous episodes.

Catherine and I are thrilled to speak with Mike Marjama, a licensed real estate professional and a trailblazing athlete using his platform to advocate for mental health, wellness, and personal development. Mike spent 10 years on an amazing journey chasing his dream of being a professional baseball player, climbing through the minor leagues to eventually make his Major League debut in 2017.

As a former professional athlete, he recognizes how athletes can create positive impacts by sharing their stories and advocating for their passions. In 2018, he shared his challenges with a national audience through LeBron James’ digital media company, Uninterrupted, bringing awareness to how mental health and eating disorders can impact young men, athletes and beyond. Mike’s personal challenges with mental health and eating disorders, beginning early in his life have helped shape his new journey as a Realtor, nationally acclaimed speaker, consultant, and real estate investor. Mike is the first male professional athlete to speak out about eating disorders and their impact on athletes and his story has been featured by MTV, Good Morning America, The Doctors, CBS Today and countless others. Most notably in 2018, Mike traveled to the United States Capitol in Washington D.C. and addressed members of Congress about crafting better legislation for those affected by mental health.
