Kicking Butt in Life & Friend Finding

How to kick butt in life, not get kicked by life. This is Goodness
Chick’s new focus and I am excited to begin this journey and focus
with you. I’ll be addressing how kicking butt in life is connected to our
mental health, wellness, relationships, self care and a gazillion other
things.
We also look at an important factor in kicking butt: friendship & its
role in our lives. We’ll look at how to make new friends and ways to
pursue a measure of wellness through this.

Value of Friendship & the Heaps of Positives

Who we invest our time and hearts in is important. Know, that you are worth being friends with someone who values you.

Learning what a healthy friendship looks like is and isn’t is a big thing!

We’ll check out attributes of what a good friend looks like and how to adjust your sails if change is in the air.

If you’re interested, check out how you can  in be part of Goodness Chick’s Patreon Campaign. All funds go towards equipment, personnel and programming GC’s Podcast.

Wisdom From Yoda

Life transitions can be tough. How we opt to handle them? Absurdly important. From our mindset to choosing to learn something from them or not. The choice is ours.

Yoda is my muse who may be green, crazy short and a tad smelly, but never (ever) judge a book by its cover. This episode is all about lessons learned from the little green dude.

Remembering The Memorial In Memorial Day

My dear friend, Robin Leonard Martin, shares the true meaning of what Memorial Day is really about.

Jared Michael Leonard, Robin’s brother, paid the ultimate sacrifice in serving our country.
Memorial Day is a day to take time to reflect and pay respect for those who have given their lives for our freedoms.

Learning what the day is actually about allows for appreciation for our freedom, those serving and those who have sacrificed their lives for us. Freedom, my friends, is not free.

As the weekend approaches, let us take time to reflect and remember those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedoms.

Collateral Beauty

Bridget Hennessy is the Director of PACT Prevention Coalition in St. John’s County, Florida. Bridget was a student of mine many years ago. It was during her junior year of high school that her brother, Matthew, lost his life to an overdose.

In the years following, Bridget has used the loss of her brother to fuel her in using her voice to educate, inspire and empower others. We talk about the value in using our loses to help others and make the world a better place.

Bridget embodies the essence of collateral beauty. Through grief and hurt she made the choice in using her voice to spread a mission that has not only inspired, but has truly saved lives.

When Surfing Is Therapy And Therapy Is Surfing

Today’s guest is Josh Dickson, director of Resurface, a program that
provides week-long-surf-therapy retreats for trauma, positive psychology and
self care that are held in Morocco.

We look at how combining good vibes, forced mindfulness (surfing) and individual & group therapy creates a strong platform for therapeutic change. Examining how non-conventional methods of therapy hold tremendous value and ability to foster change.

Guys, Emotions & The Reality Of The High Suicide Rate Among Males

My guest, Matt Kynaston, is a philanthropist, mental health activist and all around amazing guy who I am honored to call a friend. In the UK, suicide is the number one killer of men and it ranks in the top tier of causes of deaths for men in the United States.

Matt has dedicated his life to raising awareness speaking in schools, conferences and running support groups on the relevance of mental health among men and boys throughout the UK. We look at what it means to be a healthy male and the different ingredients our boys need to view mental wellness and their emotions as a priority.

Support is out there and when we or someone we love is struggling, support and encouragement are critical.
