Can a Medical Intuitive Help with Mental Health?

Julie Ryan is a medical intuitive. We cover a lot of topics on mental health news radio but not this one. We wanted to know if a medical intuitive can also detect depression and other mental health issues.

Julie can sense what medical conditions and illnesses a person has, she can facilitate energetic healings, see energy fields—and communicate with spirits both alive and dead. She can work from anywhere; it’s rare I’m with someone while scanning them.

In addition, she can scan animals, access people’s past lives, and remove ghosts from homes and other buildings, and tell how close to death someone is.

Although the medical intuitive aspect of her life has been an amazing side interest, she is basically a businesswoman, an inventor, an author, and a serial entrepreneur. During her 35-year career, she invented surgical devices that are sold throughout the world and founded several companies in the medical, natural gas, advertising, long-term care, compliance, and data breach prevention industries.

Misconceptions About Emotions with Hilary Jacobs Hendel

Hilary Jacobs Hendel is back! She joins us to talk about the misconceptions about emotions and how we can educate ourselves and others to further our healing.

To relieve her patients’ suffering, psychotherapist Hilary Jacobs Hendel switched from practicing traditional talk psychotherapy to Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). Traditional therapy focuses on people’s thoughts and stories while AEDP is a healing methodology that helps people connect with their core emotions. Hendel teaches us that core emotions like joy, anger, sadness, fear, and excitement, are automatic and universal physical experiences; this is firmly grounded in neuroscience. Lack of access to these core emotions is at the root of anxiety, depression, and many other problems people suffer from today. We can all be taught to rediscover our core emotions with The Change Triangle, an easy to learn tool that Hendel uses to help people move through emotions to a place of calm and which is an important part of healing anxiety and depression. After years of using this tool in her private practice, Hendel was convinced that it could be a life-changing resource for anyone.

HILARY JACOBS HENDEL received her BA in Biochemistry from Wesleyan University, and an MSW from Fordham University. She is a certified psychoanalyst and AEDP psychotherapist and supervisor. She has published articles in The New York Times and professional journals. Hilary was the Mental Health Consultant for the Emmy Award winning television show Mad Men on AMC.

Be Awesome: #CompassionateMess with Dr. Kristin Neff

Join Dr. Kristin Neff for a lively discussion about what it means to be a compassionate mess! It’s okay. Our hosts Dr. Kristina Hallett and Kristin Sunanta Walker jump in to ask questions about what self-compassion really means especially in today’s world.

Kristin Neff got her Ph.D. in 1997 at UC Berkeley, studying moral development. She is currently an Associate Professor in Human Development at the University of Texas at Austin.

During Kristin’s last year of graduate school she became interested in Buddhism, and has been practicing meditation in the Insight tradition ever since. While doing her post-doctoral work she decided to conduct research on self-compassion – a central construct in Buddhist psychology and one that had not yet been examined empirically. In addition to her pioneering research into self-compassion, she has developed an 8-week program to teach self-compassion skills. The program, co-created with her colleague Chris Germer, is called Mindful Self-Compassion.
