Episode 113 – Keeping Your Projects from Crumbling

Sometimes projects fall apart and there is nothing you can do. Other times your project crumbled because you didn’t have a strategy to keep it alive. In this week’s episode of The Power of Purpose Podcast, Judy and Jason discuss not only how to recognize that your project might be crumbling, but how to course-correct and get it back on track.

Join Kristin as she welcomes Seth Carlson and his new podcast, Transpired, to Mental Health News Radio Network.  Seth draws upon his own personal experiences as well as the experiences of those he mentors within the transgender community and brings a whole new type of voice to our ever-growing network of podcasts.  In this episode, Seth shares some of what is to come on his new podcast that is catering not only to those who are transgender but also to those who are allies, those who know and care about someone who is transgender, and even those who simply wish to understand more about the transgender life experience.  He shares a few brief experiences that give a bit of insight into the difficulties that transgender individuals experience that the cisgender population quite often just isn’t able to understand through experience.

Seth Carlson is a freelance writer, a musician, speaker from North Carolina. He is a post-surgery transgender man who remains on hormones. He is notably known as “The Trans Life Coach” in and around the community, where he offers one-on-one mentoring sessions for transgender youth and adults alike.

Suicide and Suicidal Ideation: A pandemic of its own

Thinking Thursday #10

This week’s Thinking Thursday is dedicated to opening up the conversation about suicide and what we can do to support one another, and especially children right now, during these unprecedented (gosh I am beginning to hate that term) times.

Sending so much love to you and your loved ones.

High Level Narcissists Demand Perpetual Praise and Adulation

quoting from my book: Freeing Yourself From the Narcissist in Your Life:

“Like water cascading down a falls, compliments and tributes must flow to the narcissist at all times. He/she expects and counts on this praise. He/she recounts endless stories of his triumphs and expect s others to tell him/he “how wonderful he is.” The slightest interruption in this unguent tide is disconcerting and disturbing to the narcissist. Reactions can range from feelings of being slighted and hurt to uncontrollable rage…Devotees spin an elaborate web, a golden aura, around the narcissist. They fawn, they glow… There eyes glaze as their head tilt in is direction. Under a light or heavy trance, followers are hypnotized by the narcissistic lure…Living only to please and appease an imperious narcissist, combined with mounting erosions of their individual opportunities, faithful followers eventually become hate-filled enemies.”

You research the narcissistic personality and follow your intuition and wisdom and recognize that you have been in a non-relationship with the high level narcissist. Give yourself credit for the work that you are doing.

Practice self care: get the sleep and rest that you need, eat nourishing food, hydrate well, do movement and exercise that works for you, develop a spiritual practice in the way that you define this, spend time in Nature for restoration and calming.

From 20 years of alcoholism to 6 years of sobriety | Charlie Levoir | Funky Brain Podcast

Charlie Levoir is the creator and the host of the Way Out Podcast. The Way Out Podcast is a 12-step program that enables people to gain sobriety from drugs and alcohol. Charlie Levoir used to struggle with alcoholism for 20 years. He faced denial, broken relationships, anxiety, and depression.

After 20 years, he was able to recover from addiction when he started seeking treatment. That started the beginning of his recovery. Since December 2014, he has been clean and sober. He was able to turn his life around thanks to the 12 step recovery program. After that, he began his mission in helping others who are struggling with addiction. He wants to show to others that sobriety is possible.

Change is Inevitable, Growth is Optional

Change is an inevitable part of life, but we have the
choice to grow or stay put. Change can also be something we feel
ambivalent about and that isn’t necessarily a negative thing. It can
evoke joy, anxiety, a sense of loss and a million other things all
wrapped up in one decision.
We look at the beauty of living life facing change in a way that has the
ability to make us better people and live a richer quality of life.
